MATE TEA
Our tea comes from our own cultivation at our site in Argentina. The subtropical climate and ideal soil condition ensure the high quality of this product. That’s something to be proud of, and that’s why our tea has a name: PUERTO MATE ®. Independent laboratory tests also confirm the exceptional quality of PUERTO MATE ®.
Our own nursery
The nursery of our partner company PINDO grows approximately 1 million mate seedlings per year. A new Mate variety with outstanding flavor and product characteristics was developed as part of the doctoral thesis of managing director and partner of the nursery, Dr. Rafael Scherer.

CAREFUL DRYING
Our careful drying process ensures that no toxic hydrocarbons are produced during drying.
HARVEST
The harvest must be brought in by well trained employees and is very heavy manual labor.
All workers are fairly compensated and have comprehensive social insurance. Good work is rewarded with above average wages, providing employees and their families a good living standard and making home ownership possible.

Our mate tea is characterized by a round and balanced taste. This variety is ideally suited to inspire European tea connoisseurs for mate. Over a thousand years ago the Guaraní called mate the “nectar of the gods”, and it is still an integral part of South American culture. Due to the western health movement, mate tea, which is derived from the yerba herb, has become the drink of the hour in Europe. The herb is said to have many beneficial qualities, first and foremost as a nerve-stimulating and antioxidant refreshment that is a lot healthier than energy drinks, coffee & co.
